Albania, with about 440 km of coastline, has favorable natural conditions and real resources for the development of all activities, transport, tourism, fishing, with all coastal areas of the Adriatic zone and beyond. The transport and seaports are the main sectors for the development of the country’s transport system, economy and especially of the tourism industry.

Albania has four main ports in Durrës, Vlora, Saranda and Shëngjin. The two other ports, Porto Romano and Petrolifera serve mainly for the transportaion of oil and gas by-products.
